Neutrality and Card Check Study

The Institute for Employee Choice is involved in an ongoing national study of employee attitudes and responses to card check campaigns in the context of employer neutrality.

A card check campaign is where the employer and a labor organization agree that a union will be recognized if a majority of employees sign cards in favor of union representation.

In particular the Institute will be conducting interviews and focus groups with employees opposed to unionization, in favor of a union and undecided on the issue. The following sectors of the economy will be included: health care, construction, clerical, professional, manufacturing and service sector jobs. The results of this study will eventually be released as part of a book being written by Institute co-chairs Dick Schubert and Richard Bensinger.

If you are currently an employee or have been an employee in a non-union setting where either a card check or neutrality procedure is or was in effect and would interested in sharing opinions and anecdotes please contact the Institute. You may be selected to participate in a phone interview or focus groups.
